About Kenneth Setzer

Ken writes about plants, nature, history, language, and anything else interesting. He is former editor of The Tropical Garden magazine, the member publication of Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Coral Gables, Florida, for which he won awards from the Florida Magazine Association, and contributed a (nearly) bi-monthly column about plants, gardening, and Fairchild Garden to the Miami Herald.

His writing has also appeared in the L.A. Times, Chicago Tribune, Coral Gables Magazine, and other publications.

He recently returned as an editor to Florida International University, where he had previously worked for over fifteen years.

Ken continues to communicate the healing properties of the natural world to all and sundry and is working on a book about some very strange, remote, and nearly inaccessible places around the globe.

Ken has a BA and MA in general linguistics.
